What are cookies?
Cookies are pieces of computer code that allow small amounts of information to be passed from your internet browser to our web server. They allow websites to recognise your PC, mobile, tablet or other device as you browse. Cookies typically allow us to understand who has seen which pages, to determine how frequently particular pages are visited, to determine the most popular areas of our Website, and to make our Website more user-friendly.
Under the current EU regulation, the information collected through cookies (e.g. IP address, language presence) is considered personal data, even if it does not lead to your direct identification, and therefore we will process it with special care and for non-essential cookies, only when you allow us to do so.
Types of cookies
The cookies can be categorised by different criteria. One of them is the amount of time the cookies are being stored:
- Session cookies: Deleted after each visit to our Website. The cookie will be removed from your computer as soon as you close down your internet browser.
- Persistent cookies: Remember you for a set period of time. On your first visit to our Website, you will be presented with a default view. Over time, the version may change as persistent cookies remember preference changes you have made.
Another criteria is the purpose for which they are being used:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the Website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Website.
- Functional Cookies: These cookies enable the Website to provide enhanced functionality and remember preferences you have set.
We do not use advertising, targeting or social media cookies on this Website. We run no advertising network, no remarketing and no embedded social media features, so no such category is offered in our banner and none is described here. If that ever changes, this policy changes first.
What this Website actually sets
This site uses only strictly necessary cookies and storage: two set by our hosting and content delivery network, plus the entries Pritect Beacon needs to remember your choice and to show you the right banner. We set no advertising, personalisation or social media cookies. Some of the entries below are browser storage rather than cookies, and are marked as such.
__cf_bm, cookie, strictly necessary, set by our content delivery network for bot management, expires after 30 minutes.__dpl, cookie, strictly necessary, identifies the deployed version of the site so assets are served consistently within a visit.pb_consent, cookie, strictly necessary, records the decision you make in the consent banner, with the time and a session identifier, so we do not ask again on every page. Expires after 365 days.pb_consent_<domain>, local storage, strictly necessary, the same decision record plus the banner version and the applicable regime. It has no browser expiry and you are asked again after 12 months.pb_geo, local storage rather than a cookie, strictly necessary, written on the first page view in any 24 hour period by our consent platform, Pritect Beacon. It records the detected country, region, the consent regime that applies and whether consent is required. The platform has to know which consent model to present before it can lawfully ask you anything, so this entry is written before any choice is made. It contains no identifier and no IP address, it expires after 24 hours, and it is not used for any other purpose.pb_dismissed_<domain>, session storage, strictly necessary, records that you closed the banner without deciding so it does not re-prompt in the same tab. Dismissing is never treated as consent. Cleared when you close the tab.wlc.session.ledger, session storage, set only if you start the homepage demonstration, described below.
Pritect Beacon can also write an experiment identifier, pb_vid, while a banner A/B test is running. No experiment is configured for this site, so the entry is not written here. Beacon's IAB vendor list cache, pb_gvl, is not enabled on this site either.
Third-party embeds
Our contact page embeds our booking calendar so you can reserve a call without leaving the site. Anything that embed writes to your device is governed by your choice in the consent banner and is reported in the live declaration below, which is generated from what is actually observed on this site.

Your acceptance of cookies and how you may reject them
When you first visit our Website, you will be asked to choose the types of cookies you want to be used. Rejecting all non-essential cookies is one click and is offered alongside accepting them. The Strictly Necessary Cookies are set by default, and they cannot be switched off. Any other cookie is only enabled if you have expressly consented to it (opt-in consent), and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the consent link in the footer.
If you wish, on most types of browsers you should be able to adjust the cookie settings so that your computer does not accept any cookies (turn off, or disallow cookies). If you do this, you will still be able to browse around our website, but some core functionalities might not work as intended. Cookies can also be deleted using your web browser settings.
The homepage demonstration
Our homepage carries an optional demonstration that reads characteristics your browser discloses to any website: canvas and WebGL rendering, available typefaces, screen and timezone settings, and opt-out signals. Reading information from your device engages Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive even when nothing is transmitted, so the demonstration does not run until you ask for it.
- Nothing is read, and nothing is written to your device, before you select the control that starts it.
- Everything is computed in your browser. No result is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
- Once started, a record of what the demonstration read is kept in your tab's session storage under the key
wlc.session.ledger, and is removed when you close the tab. - The "stop and erase" control withdraws your consent and deletes that record immediately. It is as easy to reach as the control that started it.
