The standard we target

This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA, the level referenced by EN 301 549 and by the European Accessibility Act.

What we have built in

  • Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Interactive data surfaces have text equivalents. Charts and maps carry a table or a written readout, never colour or position alone.
  • All motion respects the operating system reduced-motion setting. Animated backgrounds, the scroll thread and section reveals resolve to a static state.
  • Body text and interface text meet the AA contrast ratio against our navy and paper surfaces.
  • Content is structured with real headings, landmarks and lists rather than styled text.
  • Text scales to 200 per cent without loss of content or function.
  • Nothing on the site plays audio automatically.

Known limitations

  • Some historical insight articles were migrated from an earlier site and may contain images with imperfect alternative text. We are correcting these as we re-edit each piece.
  • Documents published as PDFs, including white papers, were produced outside this site and may not be fully tagged. Ask us and we will supply an accessible version.
  • Our booking calendar and consent banner are supplied by third parties. We hold them to the same standard but do not control their markup.
